A social media user in Jordan circulated a video showing false information mentioned on the official English website of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

In the video, a social media user used her TikTok account to talk about false information included in the ministry’s English website regarding a historical personality, Salah Al-Din Al-Ayyubi, and some other mistakes such as historical places in Jordan.

-The Karak Castle-

In the video, the date of the construction of the Karak Castle was written 1132m, instead of 1132 AD.

-Salah Al-Din Al-Ayyubi-

As for the second mistake, according to the video, the website said that Salah Al-Din Al-Ayyubi is of Cuban origin. He, in fact, is of Kurdish origin.

-Quseir 'Amra-

The site also mentioned the writing of the Quseir 'Amra in two different ways, the first time they wrote ‘Omra’ and then ‘Umrah.’ Also, the website used an image of the site of Tawahin Al-Sukkar in Ghor Al-Safi instead of the site of Umm ar-Rasas.

-Ma'in Hot Springs-

According to the video, the website wrote ‘Baths Main’ instead of ‘Ma’in Hot Springs.’

Notably, Roya tried to take screenshots from the official website of the ministry to verify what was mentioned in the video, but it did not find any of that information.
