Jordan confirms one death and 2,135 coronavirus cases in one week

Jordan recorded one death and 2,135 new coronavirus cases in one week (from July 2 until July 8), bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the crisis to 1,702,661, according to the weekly COVID-19 statistical report issued by the Ministry of Health every Sunday.

The total death toll reached 14,069.

The number of cases witnessed an increase of around 61 percent in comparison to the 1,329 cases which were recorded last week.

The cases are:

-1,661 in Amman

-198 in Irbid

-122 in Zarqa

-62 in Balqa

-23 in Ramtha

-19 in Ajloun

-11 in Aqaba

-11 in Karak

-Nine in Madaba

-Six in Ma'an

-Five in Jerash

-Three in Mafraq

-Three in Tafilah

-Two in Petra

There are 15 patients receiving treatment in hospitals.

There are a total of 1,768 active COVID-19 cases.

A total of 30,644 PCR tests were conducted in one week.

The weekly positive PCR test rate reached 6.9 percent.
