The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates expressed its deepest condolences to the Islamic Republic of Iran for the victims of the earthquake that struck the south of the country on Saturday.

As a result of the earthquake, a number of deaths and injuries occurred, expressing its condolences and sincere condolences to the families of the victims, and wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured.

The agency indicated that "3 earthquakes, with a magnitude of 6.1, 6.1 and 6.3 on the Richter scale, struck areas in Hormozgan Province, southern Iran, at dawn on Saturday."

The governor of Hormozgan, Mehdi Doosti, said at the time that "strong earthquakes and dozens of seismic aftershocks have killed 5 people and injured 19 others so far in the villages of the Khmer port."

He added that "most of the damage occurred in the village of Sayeh Khoush, most of whose houses were destroyed by the earthquakes."

The US Geological Survey said earlier that an earthquake struck an area located 100 km southwest of the port of Bandar Abbas.
