The Minister of Environment Muawiya Radaideh said that the air in the Aqaba governorate is free of chlorine gas after laboratory tests were conducted in several areas of the governorate.

Radaideh told Roya Tuesday that the situation is reassuring.

He also confirmed that seawater samples had been taken and the necessary tests were conducted.

He pointed out that there is no evidence that water and marine organisms are affected by gas toxicity, explaining that chlorine gas disappears from the air after a few hours.

Radaideh pointed out that the Ministry of Environment and several concerned parties are cooperating to determine the circumstances of the accident.
