The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate said that during the past few days, employees of the Anti-Narcotics Department dealt with a number of cases of drug dealing and smuggling during which large quantities of narcotics were seized, and those involved were arrested and referred to the judiciary.

In the first case, in conjunction with the Jordanian security services and customs, and after receiving intelligence information, a freight vehicle loaded with vegetables coming from a neighboring country was traced. It was seized upon its arrival and by inspection, 358,000 Captagon pills were seized, which were hidden discreetly inside boxes. Three people were arrested, one of them of Arab nationality.

In another case, a person classified as dangerous was arrested for selling cocaine. Two others were arrested for being involved with him in promoting narcotic substances.

The media spokesperson stressed that the authorities are following up all forms of dealing with narcotic substances, whether coming from outside or inside the Kingdom, and continuing to raid the dens of drug dealers and promoters, and for this it harnesses all its intelligence, operational and logistical capabilities.
