A member of the National Committee for Epidemics Bassam Hijjawi said Tuesday that Jordan’s COVID-19 situation is stable and “we will not go back to any COVID-19 measures or lockdowns in case of a new variant.”

He added that Jordan’s epidemiological situation remains stable as it has not recorded over 500 new cases in a week for the past 10 weeks, in addition to not confirming new coronavirus deaths during the past four weeks.

Hijjawi stressed that receiving the coronavirus vaccine is the main way to limit the spread of the virus, noting that vaccination rates are very good especially among people over the age of 18.
