Thursday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the US government after President Joe Biden announced the upcoming delivery of Himars multiple launch rocket systems, or MLRS, mobile units that can simultaneously launch multiple precision-guided missiles up to 80 kilometers (50 miles), AFP reported.

"The United States confirmed on multiple levels that our country will receive modern rocket systems Himars. This weapon will really help to save the lives of our people, and defend our land. I am grateful to President Biden, all our American friends, and the people of the United States for their support," Zelensky said.

Earlier, Zelensky had confirmed that Russian troops control about one-fifth of his country.
