Rumors regarding closure of Jordan's airspace 'untrue': Civil Aviation Authority

The Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority Haitham Misto said Tuesday that rumors regarding the closure of Jordan's airspace are “untrue.”

Misto confirmed that the Kingdom's airspace was not closed at all, and international aircraft movement continued as usual.

He explained that what happened was the suspension of take-off and landing in the vicinity of Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) for a period of 40 minutes in order to preserve the safety and security of civil aviation.
