Othman Al-Tawalbeh, a director at the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN), said that initial investigations show that the fire that broke out in Yarmouk Reserve in Irbid was intentional.
In an interview with Roya, Tawalbeh said that around 500 trees that were partially burned, in addition to two thousand small shrubs, and that a field survey will be conducted to ascertain the exact types and numbers of trees that were exposed to fire, so that the concerned authorities will be provided with a detailed report.
Tawalbeh pointed out that there are no indications of animal deaths due to the fire.
