Sunday, the authorities decided to imprison someone for three months for starting a rumor about donkey meat being sold in Amman.

The decision is effective immediately and is subject to appeal before the competent court, according to the decision of Amman Court.

Around a month ago, the convict had published a post on Facebook, in which he claimed that a restaurant was selling donkey meat unfit for human consumption.

The security services arrested him and he was referred to the judiciary, where he was charged with broadcasting false information causing a panic within the community.
