A member of the National Committee for Epidemics Najwa Khoury said Monday that the committee recommended reducing the period of home isolation for COVID-19 patients in Jordan to become five days for those who do not show coronavirus symptoms, and seven days for those who show symptoms.

She confirmed to Roya that most of the cases recorded in Jordan recently are with Omicron, and a small number of infections are from the Delta variant.

Monday, the Kingdom recorded 27 deaths and 21,626 new coronavirus cases Monday, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the crisis to 1,351,733. The death toll has risen to 13,347.

Notably, Jordan reduced the period of home isolation for COVID-19 patients in January 2022. Those who get infected with the virus must isolate themselves for seven days if they do not show coronavirus symptoms, and 10 days if they show symptoms.
