Tuesday, the Founder and Director of Arabia Weather Mohammed Al-Shaker said that Jordan will be affected by a fourth-degree polar depression on Wednesday.

Shaker told Roya’s Nabd Albalad that the weather will begin to change after 5pm Wednesday, as snow begins to fall over the heights of more than 1,000 meters above sea level, and later will extend to the heights of more than 700 meters above sea level.

He pointed out that the snow will keep falling until Thursday noon.

Additionally, Shaker indicated that after 8pm on Wednesday, Amman will be covered in snow and it will accumulate.

“We expect almost continuous snowfall from Wednesday evening to Thursday morning,” he said.

He noted that snow accumulations may exceed 30 centimeters in some regions.

However, Shaker said the snow in Jordan will not be like the one in Istanbul.

Earlier Tuesday, Jamal Al-Mousa, weather forecaster at Arabia Weather, said that the expected air depression will begin to affect Jordan at 9am on Wednesday.

Mousa added to Roya that the depression will begin to affect the northern regions and gradually extend to the central and then southern regions.

He pointed out that Jordan is currently experiencing the beginning of the depression, and that the weather will be very cold on Tuesday night, noting that the depression will intensify in the afternoon hours of Wednesday.

He pointed out that the Palestinian coasts will witness thunderstorms and heavy showers, and snow will fall on the heights that are 700 meters above sea level in Jordan and Palestine.

Mousa expected large amounts of snow to fall on many regions in Jordan on Thursday, warning of the danger of snow accumulation and low temperatures.
