The second semester in public and private schools will be postponed to Feb. 20, according to the spokesperson for the government, Faisal Al-Shboul.

Shboul, the Minister of State for Media Affairs, the official spokesperson for the government, announced that the Cabinet decided, in its session held today, Wednesday, to approve the recommendation of the Supreme Framework Committee to deal with the pandemic to postpone the start of the second semester in public and private schools from kindergarten to eleventh grade.

Shboul stressed that the decision to postpone the start of the second semester comes with the aim of preserving the health of students and educational staff and contributing to breaking the epidemic curve, which is currently escalating, noting that the decision to advance the date of the winter vacation for schools that was taken previously has contributed to breaking the curve at the time.
