The Global citizenship and residence advisory firm Henley & Partner issued their first report for 2022 in which they included the list of best and worst passports in 2022.

The firm's Henley Passport Index, which is based on exclusive data provided by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), has been regularly monitoring the world's best passports for around 16 years.

The Index ranks a total of 199 passports according to the number of destinations their holders can access without obtaining a prior visa.

The Index indicated that increasing travel barriers that have been introduced by the COVID-19 pandemic have resulted in the widest global mobility gap in their 16-year history.

Holders of the passports at the top of the Index’s ranking - Japan and Singapore - are able to travel visa-free to 192 destinations.

South Korea and Germany came in second, as citizens of these countries can travel without a visa to 190 destinations.

Finland, Italy, Luxembourg and Spain ranked third, with a total of 189 destinations.

As for the Arab world, the UAE passport ranked 15th in the world and first in the Arab world. The UAE passport holder can visit more than 170 countries visa-free.
