The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the United Arab Emirates, in coordination with the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, announced a travel ban for all UAE citizens who are not vaccinated against the coronavirus.

The decision issued Saturday takes effect from Jan. 10, and comes in line with the strengthening of national efforts in all sectors, in light of the global epidemiological situation and the current high rate of cases.

The Ministry confirmed it will be required for nationals to have taken a booster dose in order to travel.

At the same time, the UAE has begun the transition to the new work week with four and a half days.

The UAE became the first country in the world to shorten its working week from five days to four and a half days.

The Emirates took their decision three weeks ago, and it will be comprehensively applicable to the public sector, with the exception of the education system, and universities.
