Roya has received several complaints from citizens who while they or their relatives were undergoing a specific treatment in a hospital, started experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, despite the fact that hospitals are very hygienic.

Some stated that while their relatives were in certain private hospitals in Jordan to receive treatment, they were surprised by the emergence of COVID symptoms, and the test results turned out positive.

A man issued a complaint after he saw nurses in the Intensive Care Units exchange shifts with their colleagues in isolation departments, once the man complained to a director of the hospital, the director attributed this to the shortage of manpower.

The families of patients who got infected with coronavirus while being hospitalized told Roya that this is due to the ‘recklessness’ of the medical personnel and the irresponsibility that allows nurses who take care of COVID patients to also take care of other patients in different departments, allowing the virus to spread throughout the hospital.

Roya tried to contact the Minister of Health, Dr. Firas Al-Hawari, the Prime Minister’s Adviser for Health Affairs, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health for Epidemiological Affairs, Dr. Adel Al-Balbisi,the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health for Epidemiology and Communicable Diseases, Raed Al-Shboul, and the President of the Private Hospitals Association, Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri, for comment but no answer was received.

Roya confirms that the right of reply will be reserved.
