The representative of the World Health Organization in Jordan, Dr. Jamila Al-Rabi, confirmed that COVID vaccines have proven to be safe and effective in reducing the severity of the disease and the possibility of death when infected with the virus.

Over eight billion doses have been administered globally, according to Rabi.

Rabi stated that those who are unvaccinated are more likely to be hospitalized and more likely to die when infected with the coronavirus.

Unvaccinated people make up around 87 percent of deaths by COVID-19 in Jordan, and 82 percent of hospitalized cases, Jordan’s WHO representative explained.

She added that the figures show that those unvaccinated are 10 to 17 times more likely to be hospitalized, and they are 10 times more likely to die when infected with virus, compared to people who have been fully vaccinated.
