A recent study revealed that eating 10 grams of dark chocolate a day makes people happier, according to the British newspaper, Daily Mail.

The source said that researchers in South Korea found, in their study, that a small amount of dark chocolate can significantly improve one’s mood.

Healthy adults who ate 10 grams of dark chocolate daily were “happier,” compared to others who didn't eat it at all, the study found.

Although nutritionists and health experts advise eating dark chocolate, at the same time they warn against excessive consumption of chocolate as it may lead to weight gain.

Dark chocolate contains an important proportion of cocoa, which is rich in fiber, iron and a number of minerals beneficial to the body.

The study was conducted by researchers in the Department of Food and Nutrition, affiliated with Seoul National University (SNU).

They stated: “To our knowledge, this is the first study to provide evidence that daily consumption of dark chocolate positively affects physiological and psychological states.”
