Thursday evening, a concert with large numbers of attendees took place in the Boulevard in Abdali, Amman.

Videos of the concert documented the lack of compliance with preventive measures against the coronavirus, which sparked a wave of criticism on social media.

After a short period of time, the governor of Amman, Yaser Adwan, announced the decision to cancel all concerts in Amman, from today, Friday, until further notice.

Adwan confirmed in a statement to Roya that all permits previously issued will become void.

Additionally, the organizers of the Boulevard concert were called in to the governor’s office, said Adwan.

This decision comes at a time when concerts are being arranged as the holiday season approaches.

Jordanians expressed their concerns regarding the fates of the concerts that were already scheduled to take place on New Year's Eve, and about the losses that would befall the organizers of the concerts.
