The Ministry of Interior confirmed that the period granted to expatriate workers who did not receive two doses of the coronavirus vaccine will expire Dec. 15, after which strict measures will be taken against them, including the deportation of those who have not been vaccinated.

The ministry said in a press statement Wednesday that this decision comes with the aim of preserving public health and safety.

The ministry stressed that receiving the vaccine is free of charge for everyone.

Earlier, the Ministry of Interior had confirmed that strict measures will be taken against expatriate workers who did not receive the COVID-19 vaccine, starting from Dec. 15.

Jordan began its national coronavirus vaccination campaign on Jan. 13.
