Wednesday, Saudi Arabia detected the first case of the new COVID variant, Omicron, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The new case involved an individual who arrived in the Kingdom after coming from a North African country.

Saudi Arabia is the first Arab country to confirm a case of the Omicron variant.
