Government allocates JD 110 million to confront COVID-19 pandemic in 2022

The Ministry of Finance allocated JD 110 million to confront the coronavirus pandemic during the year 2022.

According to the draft budget, which Roya received a copy of, the allocations of the Ministry of Health in the Draft General Budget Law for the fiscal year 2022 amounted to more than JD 644.2 million.

The ministry seeks, according to its estimated budget, to raise the number of jobs in the health sector to 28,635, by creating about 1,796 job opportunities during the next year.

Within its allocations for the year 2022, the Ministry of Health allocated about JD 1.1 million for the purposes of computerizing the services in the ministry, and around JD 1.7 million for the modernization of non-medical devices and furniture in the ministry. It also allocated about JD three million for the purposes of training, qualifying and managing human cadres within the human resources development program.

The ministry seeks to raise the number of emergency beds in hospitals to 820 beds, compared to 780 beds in 2021.
