The Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) received more than 3.6 million passengers from January-October 2021.

The QAIA registered 36,683 aircraft movements, an increase of 79.1 percent in comparison with the same period in 2020, and a decrease of 45.9 percent in comparison to 2019, according to the Airport International Group (AIG) records.

Last October, the QAIA received 541,629 passengers, constituting a 25.1 percent drop compared to figures from 2019. The aircraft movement was at 5,146, dropping by 21.4 percent compared to the same period in 2019.

The CEO of AIG Nicolas Claude said the moderate recovery of global air transport will take a few more years to regain the same levels as 2019, before the COVID-19 breakout.

He said the AIG employees are ready to receive more numbers of passengers, predicting a tangible progress in the sector's overall recovery.
