Russian President Vladimir Putin met Tuesday with the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Sochi.

Russian President Vladimir Putin Tuesday reaffirmed his country's position that a settlement to the Palestinian issue should be based on UN Security Council resolutions.

Putin said as he welcomed Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in the Black Sea resort of Sochi that Russia's position on finding a solution to the Palestinian issue has not changed, as it should be based on previous UN Security Council resolutions and on the basis of justice that takes into account the interests of all sides.

He also said there was a disruption of the joint Russian-Palestinian working committee due to the coronavirus pandemic, and that it is necessary to resume work as soon as possible.
