The Governor of Madaba, Ali Al-Madi, confirmed that the governorate has taken actions to prohibit funerals once and for all, due to the spread of COVID-19.

According to Madi, wedding venues are allowed to operate with a capacity of 50 percent and all attendees must be vaccinated or have a negative PCR test result within 72 hours of the time of event.

Private farm houses were banned from holding any gatherings or parties.

Madi explained that 11 committees have been formed to follow up the compliance of facilities and ensure all health requirements be adhered to to prevent the spread of the virus.

He pointed out that COVID-19 patients were monitored so that they do not leave their homes.

According to Madi, 81 percent of the Madaba’s population received the first dose of the vaccine, amounting to 100,000 out of a total of 123,000.
