Canadian singer, Justin Bieber, faced backlash and heavy criticism after the announcement of an upcoming concert in Tel Aviv, Israeli Occupation.

Users took to social media to express their discontent with the news, with some comparing the different between his recent concert in South Africa which “fought apartheid” to Israeli Occupation which is an “apartheid state.”

Lalela Mswane, Miss South Africa, will represent her country at Miss Universe 2021 in Israeli Occupation.

The South African government decided to withdraw its support and to disassociate itself from Mswane as she did not boycott the pageant although her country’s government asked her to do so.

“The atrocities committed by Israel against Palestinians are well documented and government, as the legitimate representative of the people of South Africa, cannot in good conscience associate itself with such,” the government said in a statement.

Another tweeted, asking: “If your album is called Justice, why on earth would you go and sing in an apartheid state? Or is the word justice hollow to you? Or is it just another place to make money from people who benefit out of the suffering of others?”

Notably, a number of international stars, such as Lorde and Lana Del Rey canceled their concerts in Israeli Occupation, following criticism and pressure from Palestinian boycott activists.

Singer Demi Lovato also apologized for a controversial trip to Israeli Occupation and was, reportedly, paid $150,000 by the Ministry of Jerusalem Affairs to post content on social media from the trip.
