Monday, a 60-year-old woman died and four others were injured in a vehicle crash west of Irbid.

A source in the Civil Defense Directorate in Irbid said that the ambulance cadres dealt with a crash accident, which resulted in the death of a 60-year-old and the injury of four others.

He pointed out that the rescue teams provided the necessary first-aid to the injured and transferred them to Princess Basma Hospital for treatment.

Notably, the director of the Civil Defense Directorate in Amman, Colonel Muhammad Khreisat stated that 57,500 accidents occurred during this year, resulting in 46,000 injuries and 975 deaths.

He said that the directorate has the latest mechanisms when it comes to drowning rescue operations, as a result of swimming in undesignated places, such as agricultural ponds and dams.

Furthermore, the rescue team responded to 114 drowning accidents, resulting in 86 injuries and 51 deaths between 2019 until February 2020.

Khreisat indicated that the number of drowning cases in Nov. 2020 until Feb. 2021 amounted to 14.
