Monday, MP Abdul Karim Al-Dughmi won the presidency of the House of Representatives in the first round, after obtaining the majority of the parliament’s votes.

Dughmi won 64 votes out of 130 votes.

After the announcement, a young girl carrying roses in her hands came to congratulate Dughmi. Later on, it was confirmed that this little girl is his granddaughter.

Earlier Monday, His Majesty King Abdullah II inaugurated the first ordinary session of the 19th Parliament and delivered the Speech from the Throne.
