Tuesday, a young man killed his two sisters, ages 32 and 27, and tried to kill his 70-year-old mother in the state of Tizi Ouzou, according to local reports.

The 35-year-old culprit held his mother and two sisters inside a bedroom, before detonating a gas cylinder, to kill them all.

According to reports, the mother miraculously escaped from certain death.

Immediately after hearing the sound of the explosion, neighbors tried to intervene.
A nurse who lives in the neighborhood hurried to enter the house, the scene of the crime, but the perpetrator prevented and assaulted him with a weapon.

The perpetrator prevented everyone from trying to put out the flames, until the police intervened and arrested him.

In turn, a police chief in the state of Tizi Ouzou, Jamila Tamar, said that the offender was addicted to drugs and alcohol, and he had a criminal record.

However, other local media quoted eyewitnesses as saying that the perpetrator suffers from psychological disorders.

Notably, several horrific crimes were recently recorded that were committed by people suffering from psychological and mental disorders.

In northern Morocco, last August, a 70-year-old woman died after her son suffocated her. Less than a week later, a similar crime occurred in which the son killed his mother and mutilated her body in Casablanca.
