Emmanuel Macron announced on Tuesday that France will resume building nuclear reactors to ensure its energy independence and achieve its climate goals.
"In order to guarantee France's energy independence, to ensure our country's supply of electricity, and to achieve our goals, especially carbon neutrality, in 2050, we will, for the first time in decades, rebuild nuclear reactors in our country and continue to develop renewable energies," he said in a televised speech.
