Monday, two brothers were killed and their father was injured when their neighbor stabbed them inside their home in Irbid.

Samer Al Hamouri, brother of the deceased, spoke to Roya about the death of his two brothers, Rami and Tamer, recounting new details of the incident.

He said that what is being published about the existence of previous disputes over money or drugs between his two brothers and the killer is “absolutely incorrect.”

Hamouri said that everyone around them and their friends can testify to their respectable nature and that they have no issues with anyone.

In the details of the incident, Hamouri explained that his brother Tamer, 35, and Tamer’s wife and daughter, 4, travelled from Amman to Irbid to visit his family and to do some business with his older brother Rami.

Half an hour after their arrival, their father, named Abu Rami, was walking down the stairs holding coffee when the killer stabbed him in his hand and stomach. The father started screaming and calling to Tamer for help, who ran after the killer to be fatally stabbed in the heart, and during that his older brother Rami was also stabbed.

Hamouri stressed that all the residents of the area watched what happened and filmed the incident from the windows of their homes without interfering or trying to prevent the killer from continuing his attacks.

The killer was caught by the neighbors who beat him and took him to the police.

Hamouri confirmed that the only connection their family has with the perpetrator is that he is their neighbor and they sometimes provide his family with money as a charitable gesture.

He demanded the killer be executed for a just retribution to be achieved saying, “nothing will compensate for our loss, and if I had been present during the attack, I would have been killed as well.”

Samer Hamouri concluded his speech to Roya by saying that his father still does not know that two of his children passed away.

A solidarity stand was held in Irbid for the relatives of the two young men, Tamer and Rami, in efforts to demand their killer be executed.

The Former Minister of Industry and Trade, Tariq Al-Hamouri, said that Jordan is a state of law.

During the protest, the Minister and the relatives of the two murdered young men, demanded the killer be punished according to Sharia law and Jordan’s law.

He added that the perpetrator was referred to the judiciary, and that the security measures are proceeding at a rapid pace, expressing his confidence in the Jordanian judiciary.
