Actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson vowed to stop using real firearms during filming, after the tragic death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins at the hands of Alec Baldwin during filming of ‘Rust.’

Dwayne Johnson said he was "heartbroken" for her death and that the tragedy prompted him to reconsider the use of firearms while filming productions for his company, Seven Bucks Productions.

The 49-year-old American star said, in an interview with "Variety" magazine on Wednesday, that he decided to use rubber guns from now on.

“I can’t speak for anyone else, but I can tell you, without an absence of clarity here, that any movie that we have moving forward with Seven Bucks Productions — any movie, any television show, or anything we do or produce — we won’t use real guns at all,” Johnson told Variety.

He also said he plans to enforce this decision on any studio he works with in the future.

“This has created a new lens and perspective, I think, on how we can operate moving forward,” Johnson said.

“As awful as this situation was and still is, we have to use this as an example to be smarter and safer as we move forward.”

“We’re going to switch over to rubber guns, and we’re going to take care of it in post[-production]. We’re not going to worry about the dollars. We won’t worry about what it costs,” he added.

The police are still investigating the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
