The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, through the Operations Center and the Jordanian Embassy in Khartoum, is following up the situation of Jordanian citizens in the Republic of Sudan, in light of recent developments in the country.

The Sudanese Ministry of Information had announced that "Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok, in a message from his house arrest, asks the Sudanese to adhere to peace and occupy the streets to defend their revolution."

On its Twitter account, the Ministry of Information said, "The joint military forces, which are holding Abdullah Hamdok inside his house, are putting pressure on him to issue a statement in support of the coup.

The Sudanese Prime Minister's office told Sky News Arabia that Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok has been placed under house arrest.
