The Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Wajih Owais told Roya that the epidemiological situation in schools is ‘under control.’

Owais said that the rate of COVID-19 infections among school students reached 0.07 percent out of a total of 2.5 million students in Jordan.

He pointed out that classes and schools where the rate of infection with the coronavirus exceeds 10 percent must switch to online education. If a student tests positive for the coronavirus, the student must home-quarantine and switch to distance learning.

Owais indicated that vaccination against the coronavirus is now available for students over the age of 12, indicating that the number of students who received the vaccine reached more than 120,000.
