Monday, the former US secretary of state and Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman, General Colin Powell, died due to coronavirus-related complications at the age of 84, according to his Facebook page. 

“We have lost a remarkable and loving husband, father, grandfather and a great American,” the family said in a statement posted on social media.
