A 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck off the southern Greek island of Crete on Tuesday, according to the Athens Seismic Observatory, but no injuries were reported, according to initial media reports.

The Athens Observatory said in a statement that the epicenter of the earthquake was "located in the sea, 405 kilometers southeast of Athens, and it struck at 0924 GMT."

The quake comes two weeks after another earthquake of magnitude 5.8 struck the island of Crete, leaving one person dead and ten injured.
