Magnitude 5.5 earthquake hits Iran

Monday, a magnitude 5.5 earthquake hit the western region of Iran.

According to the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 13 km, at a latitude (32.35 north) and longitude (49.80 east).

The center confirmed that the epicenter of the earthquake struck 99 km west of Shahr-e-Kord, southwest of Isfahan, and 66 km north-east of the city of Suleiman Mosque.

No material or human damage was reported.
