Wednesday, Iraq announced the launch of its first satellite, as part of a step to keep up with the technological development in the telecommunications sector.

The Minister of Communications, Arkan Al-Shaibani, said at the second Iraqi cybersecurity conference, that the launch represents an achievement, prestige and sovereignty of the Iraqi state.
