Actress pleads with authorities to protect her from Jordanian relatives

Dana Masaeed, an actress and daughter of a Kuwaiti mother and Jordanian father, posted a cry for help after receiving death threats from her father's family.

Masaeed, 24, took to social media to reveal details of her story, writing, “I am Dana Masaeed, a Jordanian national, of a Kuwaiti mother.”

“I am receiving death threats from my father’s family very openly.”

“My father has taken me from my mother once before and my mom legally took me back,” she wrote. “I have not had a minute of peace ever since.”

“I ask the authorities to protect me. Please do not make me the next victim.” she added.

Masaeed also posted screenshots of messages she received in Arabic from anonymous users who she claimed were her relatives, with the messages reading, “We found you [sweetie], all you’ve done is for naught,” along with a URL of her location and a photo of her passport.

The actress currently resides in the UAE and has asked for help from the Emirati authorities and the Jordanian Embassy.

It was reported that another message she received reads, “Say goodbye to your loved ones, with your blood our dishonor and shame will be washed away.”

The hashtag #Save_Dana_Masaeed went viral on Twitter with users demanding help be provided for Masaeed.

“We don't want her to become the next victim, please save her!!” a user tweeted.

Someone else wrote, “I don’t know for how long this is going to keep happening. Every single human being deserves to live in safety and peace, deserves to be free. Help Dana.”
