Monday, the Royal Hashemite Court (RHC) announced on their Twitter account that His Majesty King Abdullah II’s summit meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin began in Moscow.
During the meeting, they discussed maintaining coordination on various issues of mutual concern, in service of mutual interests and global peace and security.
His Majesty King Abdullah II left the homeland Sunday heading to the Russian capital, Moscow where he will hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday.
HRH Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, was sworn in as Deputy to His Majesty the King, in the presence of the ministry.
The Russian President's aide, Yuri Ushakov, said in a press statement last Friday, in response to a question about whether the King is scheduled to visit Russia next week: "Yes, and he will hold a working meeting with President Putin, on Monday."
The Russian "Interfax" agency, on Thursday, quoted several sources that the king will visit Moscow next week to meet with the Russian president.
The last meeting between Putin and King Abdullah II was held in October 2019 in the Russian city of Sochi, and on July 11, 2020, they had a phone call in which, according to the Kremlin, they discussed unifying efforts to combat the Corona virus pandemic and the cases in Syria and Libya.
