The Assistant Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ghazi Sharkas, said Sunday that there has been a clear increase in the spread of cases and the rate of outbreak of the coronavirus in recent days. 

He added that the past week witnessed double the amount of cases recorded during the previous week.

He pointed out that one of the most important factors that the Ministry of Health focuses on is the expansion of vaccination coverage. For this reason, the MoH has set up many options and facilities for people to be vaccinated.

Sharkas confirmed that the Ministry of Health gave the vaccine to a record number of people in July, and is seeking to further expand the campaign in August.
