The latest weather readings indicate that a major heat wave is expected to hit the Levant region at the beginning of this coming week. 

The Palestinian monitor, Assem Aseeda, said that a heavy-caliber heat wave is heading towards the region, with temperatures expected to steadily rise Friday and Saturday before a more dramatic heat wave hits at the beginning of this coming week. 

Asida added that what distinguishes the wave is not only its temperatures- which are expected to hit the 40s- but also its duration. According to the report, the conditions could last well into the first week of August.
