Thursday, protesters closed the main UNRWA office in Beirut, in protest of its failure to provide services and essential needs for Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.

This escalating step comes due to UNRWA's failure to declare a state of health and relief emergency and to provide financial assistance and services to all camp residents.

Member of the Palestinian Popular Committees in Ain al-Hilweh Adnan al-Rifai said in a press statement that closing the main office comes amid UNRWA's inability to help combat extreme poverty in camps amid Lebanon's economic crisis. According to him, protests will continue until all just demands are met.
