At a Board of Directors meeting for Royal Jordanian Airlines, held Wednesday, it was found that Royal Jordanian achieved a remarkable improvement in the company’s operational performance in the second quarter of this year compared to the first quarter despite the continued negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Vice Chairman/Managing Director and CEO of Royal Jordanian Samer Al-Majali explained that ticket offers contributed to the heavy demand for travel, which led to a sizeable increase in the number of passengers in the second quarter.

260,000 passengers traveled in the second quarter of 2021, as compared with 124,000 passengers in the first quarter, amounting to a 109 percent increase. This resulted in an 80 percent revenue increase.

Al-Majali indicated that the third quarter of this year is still witnessing a steady increase in reservations and travel on Royal Jordanian, which comes in conjunction with the lifting of many restrictions on air traffic.

Majali stressed that all Royal Jordanian employees work diligently and continuously during the peak season and activity in air transport to facilitate passenger procedures and provide them with the best services at airports and in the air.
