The Palestinian Minister of Health, Dr. Mai Al-Kaila, announced that more than one million doses of coronavirus vaccines have been administered in Palestine.

Al-Kaila said in a press statement Thursday that the number of doses administered in Palestine amounted to 1,001,415 doses, and this is evidence of citizens’ awareness, which will contribute to mitigating the effects of any future wave of the pandemic.

The Minister of Health added that there is a large discrepancy in the percentage of vaccinations received between the northern governorates (West Bank) and southern governorates (Gaza Strip). In the West Bank, 28.6 percent of the target group has been vaccinated, whereas only 8.3 percent of the target group in the Gaza Strip has been vaccinated.

She stressed the need to work with relevant authorities and partners to encourage the public to receive vaccinations, especially in the southern governorates.

The Minister of Health called on the public of citizens over the age of 18 to register on the electronic platform for receiving vaccinations via the link: https://vaccine.moh.ps, and to go to vaccination centers in the governorates to receive vaccinations.
