Rise in positive PCR test rates in Jordan is 'worrying': Belbisi

Monday, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health for Epidemiology and Communicable Diseases, Adel Al-Belbisi, spoke to Roya about the latest COVID-19 developments in the Kingdom.

Belbisi said that the increase in the number of coronavirus cases was “expected,” especially after Eid al-Adha gatherings.

He pointed out that the rise in the positive PCR test rates in the Kingdom is “worrying.” He stressed that one of the main reasons behind the increase in the number of COVID-19 infections, is the citizens' lack of commitment to preventive measures.

Belbeisi lastly indicated that around 14,578 people under the age of 20 received the coronavirus vaccine Monday.

Monday, Jordan recorded eight deaths and 1,131 new coronavirus cases.
