Sunday, the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth revealed a human kidney exchange deal between the Israeli Occupation and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

According to the newspaper, about 10 months after signing the normalization agreement with the UAE, an Israeli Occupation citizen named Shani Markovic will donate her kidney to a UAE resident, while another Israeli Occupation resident will receive a kidney from an Emirati citizen.

It is expected that this extraordinary step will take place this week after completing all procedures and necessary steps, with the cooperation of three hospitals in the Israeli Occupation, namely Sheba-Tel Hashomer, Beilinson, and Rambam.

Kidney donor Markovic said, "For me it's like donating to someone here."

"My goal is for my mother to get a kidney in return."

In turn, the director of the Organ Transplant Center at Sheba Hebrew Hospital noted that, "This is the first time that a donation is made and an organ is obtained from Abu Dhabi.”

All the necessary tests were carried out in both countries to confirm the organ match, he added.

September 2020, the UAE and the Israeli Occupation signed a historic agreement to normalize relations between the two countries, with Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco following the normalization suit as well.
