Over 10,000 citizens entered Aqaba before Eid holidays

Wednesday, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), Sharhabeel Madi, confirmed that more than 10,000 visitors entered Aqaba ahead of the Eid al-Adha holiday.

The visitors used various modes of transport, such as private vehicles and buses.

Madi expected the number of visitors to the sea-side city to increase starting Wednesday (the second day of Eid), noting that the number of visitors should continue rising throughout the week.

He added that the movement and activity within the local markets witnessed an increase during the evening period Tuesday, noting there are indications that larger turnouts in the coming days.

The Security and Executive Council in Aqaba governorate had previously prepared a security plan to be implemented during the holiday, with the aim of perpetuating work in service departments and applying public health and safety standards in various regions of the governorate.
