Syrian President Bashar al-Assad performed the Eid al-Adha prayer Tuesday morning, at the mosque of the great companion Khaled bin al-Walid in the city of Homs.

He prayed with the Minister of Endowments, the Grand Mufti of the Republic, the Governor of Homs, the Secretary of the Homs branch of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, a number of members of the People's Assembly, a group of Islamic scholars and an audience of citizens entrusted with His Eminence Sheikh Essam al-Masri, Director of Homs Endowments.

The Egyptian Sheikh delivered the Eid sermon in which he emphasized the lofty meanings of the feast, which teaches people patience and instills values of sacrifice and redemption and the value of martyrdom in order to defend the homeland.
