Canada announced that it will open its borders to fully-vaccinated travelers from all countries starting Sept. 7.

The Canadian government said in a statement on Tuesday that foreign travelers entering Canada will need to provide proof, either in English or French, that they have received a full vaccination with one of the vaccines authorized for use in Canada (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson) at least 14 days before access.

The statement indicated that anyone entering Canada will have to follow public health procedures at the Canadian provincial and territorial levels, including the need to obtain a negative PCR test result before their arrival.

Unvaccinated travelers need to quarantine for 14 days.

The statement confirmed that Canada will only allow American citizens and permanent residents of the United States who have been fully vaccinated with vaccines to enter its territory from August 9.
